About the Symposium

The Asia-Pacific Chitin and Chitosan Symposium (APCCS) is the world's largest global platform for research and technology on chitin and chitosan-based materials, and it involves more than 30 Asian countries. The APCCS is usually held every two years. The first APCCS was held in Bangi, Malaysia (1994), and subsequently in Bangkok, Thailand (1996), Keelung, Taiwan (1998), Yamaguchi, Japan (2000), Bangkok, Thailand (2002), Singapore (2004), Busan, Korea (2006), Taipei, Taiwan (2009), Nha Trang, Vietnam (2011), Yonago, Japan (2013), Kochi Kerala, India (2016), and Osaka, Japan (2018). Due to COVID-19, the last APCCS, originally supposed to be held in 2020, was postponed to 2023 and held in Jeju Island, Korea (2023). Following the successful 13th APCCS International Symposium in Korea, Taiwan has the privilege to host the 14th APCCS in 2025, marking a significant milestone for our research community. We expect more than 300 researchers from about 20 countries, and the symposium will take place from August 26 to 29, 2025, at the National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan. We invite you to share your knowledge and perspective on the research and applications of chitin and chitosan.
